Pik-Yue (Cat)
Moonlight Health and Wellbeing Services is introducing Pik-Yue (Cat) a Master of Counselling student who is completing her professional field placement before graduation. She approaches challenges and struggles through the lens of Compassion Focused Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to alleviate pain and suffering in individuals, as well as to strengthen their motivation and commitment to change and growth. She is warm, and compassionate, and believes that healing is always possible with the right support. Cat’s focus is to provide emotional support to international students.
She is a registered Circle of Security Parenting (COSP) facilitator. Through the COSP program, she works with parents and caregivers to see children's behaviours and parental challenging moments from a unique perspective. She helps parents and caregivers use their innate wisdom to understand their children's needs and respond to the needs in ways that foster security and resilience in children.
She is also interested in working with children and believes that play is the primary and natural medium of communication for children. She is interested in incorporating play when working with children and is working towards becoming a registered Child-Centred Play Therapist.
